Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the IBP process in Japan to best-in-class standards to ensure that sales and profitability targets are achieved.

  • Drive demand planning excellence via statistical forecasting in Kinaxis, leveraging available data/information such as sell-in, sell-out, and stock-in-trade data and business or trade intelligence to develop a robust 36-month forecast and sustainably achieve forecast performance targets.

  • Deliver service excellence at optimum cost and inventory . Proactively manage risks or opportunities for product supply from internal or external manufacturing with appropriate and timely communication with key business and operations partners. Manage arbitration with stakeholders (GM, Commercial, Finance, Science Hub, etc.).

  • Identify and execute the appropriate sourcing, logistics, and distribution strategies to optimize efficiencies and cost while ensuring sustainable supply and delivering service excellence.

  • Anticipate and surface potential consequences of regulatory events relating to new product launches, site transfers, or variations with various stakeholders (GSC, internal or external manufacturers, Science Hub, etc).

  • Establish a governance and drumbeat with internal and external manufacturing sources and logistics and distribution service providers on performance reviews, long-term capacity planning, and BCPs to ensure stable and continuous supply.

  • Spearheaded logistics and distributor contract performance management to meet agreed service level agreements to deliver high customer service satisfaction and strong growth.

  • Ensure all supply contracts comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, and ethical standards. Regularly update SOPs and internal procedures to ensure adherence across the organization.

  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors and immediately surface serious incidents. Promote and role model healthy and safe workplace environment and policy in distribution centres, warehouses, distributors, office.

Job Skills/Competencies

  • The position is strategic and operational and requires an individual with solid experience in managing the end-to-end supply chain, internal and external manufacturers, and stakeholders to transform the Supply Chain team in Japan. structurally

  • Exceptional leadership skills to engage and grow the team toward a culture of high performance and collaboration

  • Possess excellent communication skills to articulate, motivate, and interact with senior management teams.

  • Influencing and negotiation skills to drive sustainable change in a priority market in the AMEA region

  • In-depth knowledge of key supply chain processes (IBP, forecasting, customer care, distribution, cost, compliance) and internal and external manufacturing management

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects

  • Fluent in Japanese and English
