Amazon Marketing Manager, JP Books in Tokyo, Japan

Description

We are looking for a creative, data-driven, and results-oriented Marketing Manager to support the demand and growth of the Japan Books business. You will help develop and execute the marketing strategy for books, and will be responsible for the end-to-end Go To Market (GTM) strategy for high-visibility product launches and feature releases. You will also compile and analyze traffic and other web metrics, and report on performance to our senior management teams.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects, and work well across multiple teams including Product, Legal, Supply Chain, PR and external vendors and agencies, as needed. You will have first-class written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable negotiating with key business partners and global Amazon teams to gain alignment on marketing plans and ultimately manage all aspects of project execution.

General Responsibilities:

  • Help grow our Print and Digital Book programs through marketing initiatives including owned and operated channels

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to acquire, retain and engage customers

  • Provide strategic marketing inputs into product roadmaps

  • Own customer touch points such as storefront, emails, and search

  • Define and deliver analytics, metrics, and reporting for marketing initiatives working closely with the Business Intelligence team

  • Support and continually improve the end-to-end on-site customer experience

Key job responsibilities

This role is responsible for marketing strategy and operations for the total JP Books business, across Manga and non-Manga. The successful candidate will own developing and executing the marketing strategy for print and digital book stores, and will be responsible for the end-to-end Go To Market (GTM) strategy for high-visibility product launches and feature releases.

About the team

JP Books Marketing team owns both Print and Digital Book business marketing strategy and execution including reading subscription. Team works closely with WW marketing, WW reading subscription Product Team, JP Books cross functional team including Tech, and JP central marketing team. Marketing team consists of diverse experts owning each functional marketing area focusing on customer obsession and deliver result against our business target.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Tokyo, 13, JPN

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

  • Experience with A/B testing, especially around audience segmentation and targeting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs

  • Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation
