What to Expect:

We are looking for a Safety, Health and Environment Analyst based at our Sterling Road Factory reporting into the SH&E Manager. This role will be responsible for the on-going development and enhancement of the plant’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental program. This involves providing technical support, training, implementation, and maintenance of the programs to and for all employees and visitors in line with Nestle Continuous Excellence mindset of zero injuries and illnesses.

A day in the life of a SHE Analyst:

  • Conduct monthly workplace inspections; review and update the risk assessments when required; participate in safety and environmental audits.

  • Leading weekly SHE communications and safety campaigns to promote health and safety at the workplace.

  • Responsible for the coordination of the new hire safety orientation for hourly employees, delivering internal training to hourly employees and facilitating of safety training with external training providers.

  • Provide support and participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes, reporting, documentation, and follow-up, and ensures corrective actions are closed in a timely manner.

  • Participation in daily operational review meetings on the production floor, promotes safety objectives and goals; and fosters good staff relationships to gain commitment from all employees.

  • Support a safe work environment by maintaining OHS administrative processes, conducting basic OHS training and effectively using a range of OHS tools and processes to implement OHS programs and drive compliance.

  • Complete hearing tests and respirator fit testing for employees.

  • Review, modify, and update SHE Standards and Policies as required.

  • Participate and record meeting minutes of the Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, and other meetings coordinated by the SHE team.

  • Provide support to the SHE Team in various administrative duties.

Role Requirements

  • Completion of a University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' work experience in a safety role.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the OH&S Act and Regulations, and JHSC Certification is an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations and root cause analysis.

  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Personal commitment and positive attitude towards the safety team.

  • Demonstrates individual leadership, innovation, and a willingness to learn.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Effective communication skills to support training delivery and promotional activities throughout the organization.

  • Creative skills to design safety posters and coordinate safety campaigns.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Solution-oriented mindset, able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team.
