Canadian Tire Digital Product Owner - Automotive in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll do

As the Automotive Digital Product Owner, you will play a lead role in driving the development and enhancement of Canadian Tire’s automotive digital products and services. You will be responsible for defining the product vision & roadmap, prioritizing features, and ensuring their successful delivery while aligning with business goals and customer needs. Your focus will be on creating exceptional user experiences, improving customer engagement, and driving revenue growth through digital channels.

  • Develop a clear product strategy and roadmap that aligns with the overall business goals and objectives, incorporating market research, competitive analysis, customer insights, and industry trends.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including internal teams, customers, and external partners, to gather and prioritize requirements for digital products and features.

  • Ensure that all digital products and features are designed with a strong focus on user experience, usability, and accessibility, conducting user research and testing as needed.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and QA engineers, to prioritize features based on business value, technical feasibility, and customer impact.

  • Drive the agile development process by creating and maintaining a product backlog, writing user stories, participating in sprint planning sessions, and providing clear guidance to the development team.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather feedback, communicate progress updates, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between business needs and product delivery.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital products and continuously monitor performance against these metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by seeking feedback from customers, monitoring user satisfaction metrics, conducting post-launch evaluations, and identifying opportunities for optimization.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a digital product development environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving the development and launch of successful digital products or services from concept to delivery.

  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies, with experience working in cross-functional agile teams.

  • Ability to empathize with customers' needs and translate them into actionable product requirements that deliver an exceptional user experience.

  • Familiarity with web technologies, mobile applications, APIs, analytics tools, content management systems (CMS), e-commerce platforms, and other digital solutions.

  • Proficient in analyzing data to drive insights and make informed product decisions; familiarity with A/B testing methodologies is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps and make data-informed decisions.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment while managing competing priorities effectively.

  • Understanding of the automotive retail industry, including parts cataloguing systems, inventory management processes, customer expectations in automotive e-commerce platforms is advantageous.
