The Retail Customer Platforms Technology team supports the ongoing enhancement, development, implementation, and day to day operational support of Offer Management platform (Customer Personalization Platform), Pricing & Rates, Day to Day banking core systems as well as advisory deposits systems platform.

The Business Analyst will work closely with the product owner to understand the business functions and requirements. The individual will work with offer management applications that provide offer configuration, tracking and fulfillment for Scotiabank customers across different retail products. The candidate will report to the Senior Manager Development for Retail Customer Platforms Technology.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with Product Owners and Technical leads to solicit and capture business and technology requirements, Use Cases, User Stories, Capability Mapping, Story Mapping.

  • Review the requirements with all stakeholders and technology teams.

  • Lead the intake process with the Vendor, and Technology teams, reviewing requirements, scope to enables teams to provide work estimation.

  • Collaborate actively with the development team and Product Owner to prioritize back log and solution discovery ensuring ongoing replenishment for Sprints.

  • Review defect reports, test exit reports and work as an empathetic advocate for the customer’s quality experience.

  • Triage and prioritize defects for remediation, with the development team.

  • Work with multiple software development groups to help them deliver on high-quality products.

  • Participate in product design and product roadmap analysis.

  • Create and execute acceptance criteria based on requirements, assessing usefulness of test cases, and adjusting approach where required.

  • Manage and report on all system production issues.

  • Manage and report on all audit and risk related issues.

  • Lead the discussion with Issues Management teams for reported issues related to offers that involve customer and bank impact.

  • Lead the customer remediation efforts for all offer related issues that have customer impact.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with ability to present product journey, roadmap and provide ongoing reporting.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to review the requirements or stories and define and develop test acceptance criteria that are inline with requirements ensuring traceability between requirement and test scenario.

  • Expert knowledge in creating and maintaining Business Analysis artifacts such as Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Specification (FRS), System Requirement Specifications (SRS), Use Cases, process flow diagrams, integration diagrams, mapping documents, screen mock-ups, user-interface (UI) designs, and user manuals.

  • Ability to Create process flow and business rules and translated business requirements into technical solutions using UML diagrams such as Use Case, Activity and Sequence diagrams.

  • Possess the ability to work with technology focused peers and work on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Ideally have worked on agile and waterfall projects in the past and capable of thriving on fast paced, challenging environment and must be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.

  • Experience in providing Business Analysis effort estimation for capturing requirements and doing solution discovery.

  • Participate fully as a team member and contribute to a positive work environment that encourages productivity, professionalism, and teamwork.
