Department Overview

Global Audit is a team of trusted Internal Audit professionals that interact with every part of the Bank to provide strategic guidance and independent oversight. Through due diligence, and with a strong sense of integrity, we help mitigate potential risks to our business. At the heart of Internal Audit is our specialization in all the businesses across the bank. Safeguarding the reputation of TD's good governance depends on us.

Professional Practice is the "backbone" and operations for Global Audit and consists of high performing teams that focus on Strategy, Operations, Audit Methodology, Audit Learning & Development, Audit Technology, Talent/People programs, Business Management, Regulatory and Reporting/Analytics.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide specialized business management guidance and support related to workforce management and financial analysis, and implement policies / processes and/or initiatives to meet business management, strategy, and Audit objectives

  • Acts as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others

  • Provides business and performance reporting and analytics to enable effective business and workforce planning as well as executive decision support.

  • provides reporting and forecasting capabilities, analysis, interpretation, and advice to business leaders on both financial and business matters.

  • Provides financial and strategic analytical support on a variety of Internal Audit programs and projects

  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork

  • Support and cross train on additional functions across the Professional Practices team, including workforce management

  • Manage processes and timelines involving multiple stakeholders to complete deliverables within prescribed time frames.

Shareholder

  • Ensure work meets associated regulatory and framework controls, standards, and best practices.

  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment to delivery framework and objectives.

  • Apply analytical skills to effectively understand business problems, impacted stakeholders, and proposed solutions to ensure alignment to TD's risk appetite.

  • Identify, document, and actively manage material risks and issues, escalating to appropriate leadership when necessary to ensure the timely and unimpeded progress of work.

  • Promptly manage concerns from stakeholders and ensure timely and effective problem resolution.

  • Support change management planning and activities, including those that ensure operational readiness.

  • Support implementation and post-implementation planning and activities.

  • Support Request for Information (RFI) or Request for Proposal (RFP) planning and activities, when required.

  • Provides support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.

  • Adhere to the TD Code of Conduct.

Breadth and Depth

  • Experienced in business analysis, and delivery execution practices and standards

  • Experienced and acts as a conduit for business and user interaction with technology

  • Leveraging specialized domain, product, and systems knowledge, ensure business processes/systems impacted by the requirements are analyzed and the acceptance criteria are well understood and clearly demonstrate changes to business process/systems meet customer needs

  • Proactively identifies risks and impediments and leads problem resolution

  • Leads the identification, maintenance and reporting of traceability of requirements

  • Works independently as the senior or lead business analyst and coaches and guides members within area of expertise

  • Leads the Requirements Management for moderate to high complexity/risk initiatives

  • Possesses discipline, rigor skills and subject matter knowledge to the requirements elaboration and validation process

  • Supports the identification, maintenance and reporting of traceability of requirements

  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels

  • Reports to a Manager or Practice Lead

Experience and/or Education

  • Post-Secondary degree in Commerce, Economics or Business

  • CPA would be a strong asset.

  • Must have 5+ years' Finance experience

  • Sound business acumen and judgement

  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • High level of comfort working directly with senior/executive leadership

  • Strong negotiation skills anchored in problem solving, strategic thinking, insight generation and creative thinking.

  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills who engages colleagues, business partners and external stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with proven ability to collaborate for better results, building relationship and effectively navigating a matrix environment.

  • Result-oriented and self-disciplined with proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize and react quickly within a rapidly changing environment.

  • Demonstrated time management skill to stay well organized, with high attention to detail.

  • Experience with Tableau is an asset

  • Knowledge/experience in Internal Audit preferred but not required
