Overview

Job Title: IT Business Analyst

Job Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $100,000-$140,000/yr

Responsibilities

The IT Business Analyst will work with various stakeholders to understand how to query and analyze data to address business needs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that has worked in-depth in data analysis, including experience extracting and manipulating data using SQL, leveraging advanced Excel features for data analysis, and producing actionable information using visualization tools such as Tableau and Cognos.

  • Ability to identify problems quickly and escalate appropriately when anomalies are found within the system.

  • Configure and test functionality to satisfy business requirements as they change.

  • Work with end users to gather requirements.

  • Work to improve the systems and processes currently in place by researching and analyzing the current environment and put forth recommendations and products to improve the overall environment.

  • Conduct analysis of functional business processes to identify areas of improvement by developing complex BI solutions.

  • Develop powerful BI tools that integrate data from multiple systems for direct consumption or integration with other systems.

  • Extract ad hoc data and perform complex, detailed analyses in support of applicable projects and/or on-demand business needs.

  • Prepare BI reporting and data analyses based on the needs of internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way.

  • Provide quality assurance of imported and reporting data.

  • Process confidential data and information according to company guidelines.

  • Manage and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.

  • Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.

  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization.

  • Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports.

  • Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or Operations Research or Computer Science or Statistics or Business Data Analytics or MIS or related field required.

  • At least 6 years of experience in the field of data warehousing, BI and Reporting or other related work experience.

  • 3+ years of relevant Infor LN experience or Costpoint preferred.

  • Experience with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, ETL and data warehousing tools and processes.

  • Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, v-look ups, and h-look ups.

  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into accurate SQL queries.

  • Hands-on experience in developing complex SQL queries.

  • Proficiency in creating dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work successfully on a team.

  • Positive attitude and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Excellent analytical skills. Must be able to solve complex systems problems quickly with little technical guidance and develop corrective measures.

  • Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to details.

  • Prior experience in Aerospace and Defense industries is a plus.
