Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking Processing Manager in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. General Summary:
Under general supervision will be responsible for the development of an optimum manufacturing method that meets established internal and external specifications, standards and cost targets. Comply with the manufacturing and sales drawings to ensure the customer requirements are met. Develops and leads a preventive Quality Assurance system to assure that manufacturing processes will produce products that meet required standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Confers with Manufacturing Engineering and Production personnel to determine the method of manufacturing products in the most efficient manner considering the cost of production, machine capability, and machine skill availability.
Performs time studies and applies those studies to update machine and labor standards.
Confers with Quality to ensure method of manufacture will result in product consistent with internal and customer quality requirements.
Supports PRB function to ensure understanding of root cause issues and eliminating future occurrences.
Provides support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.
Performs analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
Implements cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards.
Develops operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
Maintains effective communication and provides training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
Provides daily management leadership and guidance for employees and ensures that Environmental Health & Safety compliance, Quality, delivery, and productivity expectations are met.
Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes.
Develops best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
Investigates problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.
Participate in & demonstrate leadership on X-functional teams
Compile and analyze data identify causes, recommend conclusions, generate reports
Use expertise to improve operational efficiencies and meet compliance requirements
Understand heat treatment and pyrometry
Benefits/Salary:

The salary range for this position is $90K to $140K.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience and three (3) years of supervisor experience
Bachelorâs Degree from an accredited institution with an engineering discipline.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of Processing/Heat Treat Engineering experience
3 years of Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering, or material science experience
Bachelorâs Degree in from an accredited institution in chemical or metallurgical discipline
Previous Aerospace experience
Apply (5S) in the work area/department; Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
Good understanding of manufacturing process to produce fasteners.
