Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Direct Ship Dispatch & Dock Operations Supervisor to lead our warehouse team at a customer site and ensure seamless daily operations. In this role, you will oversee the sorting, loading, and dispatching of packages, function as a liaison with customers, manage equipment and package flows, and ensure optimal staffing levels. You will oversee a team of outsourced staff to maintain high operational standards and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Enhance Productivity: Monitor and improve operational efficiency through key performance indicators.

- Customer Relations: Maintain high customer satisfaction with effective communication and service.

- Reporting: Provide accurate performance and system reports to drive service improvements.

Job Duties:

- Building Preparation: Ensure conveyor belts and equipment are properly staffed and operational.

- Daily Work Planning: Lead daily meetings to assign and prioritize freight processing tasks.

- Flow and Statistics Monitoring: Track belt functionality, package flow, and trailer turns to ensure timely processing. Keep performance reports current.

- Trailer Management: Work with Yard Control to ensure trailer availability for outbound shipments.

- Staffing Coordination: Adjust staffing levels based on volume and operational needs, communicating requirements effectively.

- Hub and Sort Operations: Use volume projections and daily reports to manage productivity. Collaborate with support functions and vendors to enhance day-to-day activities.

- Package and Trailer Visibility: Ensure committed package and trailer visibility standards are met.

- Loading and Dispatch Oversight: Supervise loading and dock operations to meet schedule and quality standards.

- Safety and Compliance: Co-chair the Comprehensive Health and Safety Process (CHSP) Committee, ensuring adherence to DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations.

- Supervision and Development: Train, evaluate, and develop staff, addressing performance issues as needed.

- Carrier and Vendor Coordination: Monitor carrier load movements and track shipments, resolving any performance issues.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Proven (3+ years) experience in hub operations, logistics, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of ground transportation, hub operations, and safety regulations.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.

• Experience in supervising and developing teams.

• Proficient in tracking systems and generating operational reports.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to devise effective solutions for operational challenges.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
