Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Description

We are looking for experienced forklift operators and material handlers to join our team. Openings are available on the 2nd and 3rd shift. The primary responsibilities include preparing finished goods for outbound shipping, loading shipments into the correct container truck, and unloading in-bound shipments to place materials in the proper storage and warehouse areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare finished goods for outbound shipping and load shipments into the correct container truck.

• Unload in-bound shipments and locate materials into proper storage and warehouse areas.

• Prepare necessary paperwork and attach to shipment as required to document and expedite order fulfillment.

• Move raw materials and finished parts to and from production cells and into staging areas or warehouse for storage.

• Operate electric-powered lift trucks and maintain a safe driving record.

• Inspect lift trucks for compliance with safety and standard operating capabilities.

• Follow written start-up procedures for operating electric-powered lift trucks.

• Respond to requests to locate, count, and report physical inventory quantities.

• Operate a sit-down hilo for 90-95% of the shift.

• Load approximately 10-14 trucks a day.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of recent sit-down forklift experience.

• Experience stocking the line with raw goods.

• 8 months or more of tenure in previous roles.

• Experience in a manufacturing facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hilo license (nice to have).

Work Environment

The work environment varies, with some areas being loud and others quiet. The warehouse is generally quiet. You will be part of a team of five others, working in a not the cleanest environment. The third shift runs from 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM, with occasional overtime, typically maintaining a 40-hour workweek.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
