Robert Half Applications Architect in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Description The Application Architect manages the lifecycle of new development on existing and future products. Some responsibilities include reviewing product requirements, designing product architecture, and managing daily product development efforts. The Application Architect will be responsible for managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies as well as translating product specifications into production level applications.

  • Lead code reviews -- identifying best practices and efficiency steps for increased stability and capability.

  • Play a hands-on role in code development for web-based n-tier applications.

  • Architect, design, and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.

  • Manage the timeline for product development.

  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Create and sustain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices.

  • Govern the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.

  • Support team members so that they grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.

  • Help with product release planning and assessing feature viability/effort.

  • Help with writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.

  • Work to understand requirements and create functionality specifications with the product team.

  • Mentor developers by providing technical and non-technical help and oversight- Define and evolve development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics. Requirements - Experience decomposing and prioritizing components of large systems.

  • Skilled in oral and written communication, including presentation experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in team management in a related field.

  • Software development language skills preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture.

  • Experience with threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.

  • Prior experience consulting with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.

  • Must be able to work independently and lead small teams.

  • Aptness to create, debug, secure, test, and optimize code for multiple web-based applications and services.

  • Strong understanding of database design.

  • Capable of creating realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.

  • Demonstrated capability to evaluate existing architecture, documenting issues and suggested improvements

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Capable of learning new technologies related to the Web and application development.
