Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Substitute County Caseworker 1 (Local Government) - Fayette County C&Y (Multiple in Uniontown, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK The position is responsible for investigating reports of mistreatment and abuse of children and provides for the safety of those children.  This position is responsible for completing data entry to maintain case documentation for case records.  Provide crisis intervention where appropriate, assuming on-call duties and responsibilities on a rotational basis.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.  Training and Caseworker Certification are required to be completed after employment begins.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. These positions are full-time temporary with the potential to become full-time permanent. Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch. Travel, overtime, after-hours work and on-call are mandatory. You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 1 day a week.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. Telework (1) one scheduled day per week after approval of supervisor and must hold regular status as Caseworker 1. Annual salary starts at $44,928 plus overtime and on-call pay.  After the completion of eighteen (18) months, the employee will earn County Caseworker 2 certification with an annual salary of $50,252. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.  Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits. Other Requirements: is currently waived for this title. This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension. Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Fayette County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Westmoreland, Greene, Somerset, or Washington counties will be considered.
