NBC Universal Senior Business Analyst (TV Distribution Finance Systems) in Universal City, California

The Sr. Business Analyst position is to support the global accounting and finance system for Global Television Distribution (TVD). TVD is the content distributor for NBCUniversal's catalog of TV & Film products across various platforms such as free network and cable television, airline television, premium pay television, and new media, i.e., Peacock.

The Sr. Business Analyst will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders of the Global Television Distribution business to gather requirements, analysis, and design the existing features in the current finance system and transition them as services to adjacent enterprise systems with NBCU ecosystem, towards the goal of a scalable future state target finance system.

The Sr. Business Analyst will also be involved in the design and implementation of the future-state finance system, gathering and documenting requirements, functional gaps, impact, and process flows, and collaborating with the product, engineering, and QA teams.

This role will also interact with key stakeholders across Global Finance, FP&A, Participations and Residuals, and Production.

The Sr. Business Analyst will report to Manager, Global Distribution Technology and be based in Universal City, CA.

  • Serve as key contact to user community, overseeing the collection and validation of business requirements for project initiatives to solve business needs

  • Lead business requirements gathering workshops and design sessions with the business stakeholders to deliver new functionalities and produce business process and requirements documentation

  • Understand and communicate business goals and objectives

  • Act as SME, and knowledge transfer to the Product and Technical teams, and effectively communicate requirements and business processes

  • Coordinate with other IT project teams within the organization to design and support interfaces with upstream/downstream systems

  • Coordinate testing initiative to create and execute test plans and track defect resolution

  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, and track issues through resolution

  • Provide expert trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, identify, and engage in resolution on reported issues for daily production support of the application

  • Conduct user training, business support and guidance

  • Review new project initiatives and determine functional impact

  • Work closely with the manager to provide regular status updates

  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

  • Requires a B.A./B.S. in Information Systems or other relevant field, or equivalent experience in Finance and Accounting business analysis function

  • Minimum 5+ years of client facing and business analysis experience

  • Experience leading the business discussions, eliciting, and documenting business requirements

  • Experience identifying gaps, risks, and impact for solution recommendations

  • Analyst on a Financial/accounting application

  • Production support experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with studio-based TV Distribution or finance systems as an analyst or consulting professional

  • Experience working with applications supporting large financial data bases and complex calculations.

  • Experience with agile development methodology

  • Ability to run/write simple SQL queries for data analysis
