JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Global is seeking a highly organized, creative, and collaborative Multimedia Specialist to join our growing team of talented and diverse professionals in the marketing and communications unit. Our team is continually advancing Penn State Global’s reputation on and off campuses, global engagement opportunities, international partnerships, and diverse education abroad and in-class learning opportunities through integrated and strategic storytelling . The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented multimedia specialist with website management experience, photography, and videography skills to assist with a variety of storytelling, marketing, media relations, and web support needs.
Reporting to the Associate Director for Marketing and Communications, the Multimedia Specialist will: manage content updates to the current website; oversee the overall update of the entire Global digital footprint; and design, produce, and edit images, illustrations, video, audio, and photography for a variety of audiences, platforms, and outcomes.
As an integral part of the marketing and communications team, the successful candidate will augment the Penn State Global brand and mission by taking unique, often complex ideas and transform them into watchable, sharable content.
We are looking for someone who loves to tell stories through digital content with video, photography, and other image-based media, with strong knowledge of website optimization. Experience working with multiple projects as part of a collaborative team is an essential part of this position.

The Multimedia Specialist will:
Have knowledge of the technical aspects of photography/videography and meet with stakeholders to determine project scope and goals and discuss, brainstorm, translate, and contribute to creative, integrated storytelling
Design and maintain websites, including the development of new functionality, content updates, style and layout, and accessibility, in collaboration with Global Marketing and Communications as well as vendors
Create training resources and related documentation
Coordinate various projects related to multimedia technologies development, which may include visualization and imaging projects, application design and implementation, etc.
Serve as the lead point of contact for the unit, college, or University-wide websites
Collaborate with Penn State Global staff, vendors, and technology staff to resolve issues
Comply with accessibility standards, contractual obligations, confidentiality and privacy policies, and style and standard guidelines
Conduct research on media techniques and design ideas and d eliver fresh, stylized, and on-brand multimedia solutions that align with short timelines as well as longer-term projects with complex, high-production goals
Be confident working as part of a team but be able to independently manage your own projects
Manage time - We’re a busy team; we count on each other to deliver high-quality projects on time
Education and Experience: Typically requires Associate’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Penn State and AP style, and familiarity with web CMS (Drupal) is preferred.
The successful candidate must have experience using Microsoft Office 365 suites and advanced knowledge of creative tools in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. The successful candidate will also have a working knowledge of current and evolving web, video, social media platform technologies, digital accessibility, digital standards, and best practices related to copyright while supporting Penn State Global’s brand and strategic goals.
