JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of IST’s Office of Learning Design (https://ist.psu.edu/about/offices/learning-design) has an opening for a part-time Production Specialist, with a focus on multimedia and accessibility. This position will primarily support the development of media content and apply accessibility standards for online courses that are part of the College’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

This position will be responsible for work on various projects. Duties may include:

  • Editing Canvas courses for accessibility

  • Editing documents , PowerPoints , PDF files, image alt-text, and more to adhere to a ccessibility standards

  • Captioning/transcribing videos

  • File management of both working and completed projects

  • Video editing work via Adobe Premiere Pro

    In addition, this position may also assist with other production tasks, which may include:

  • Attaining/ maintaining accessibility compliance in courses/webpages

  • Assisting with the development and revision of course materials in Canvas

  • Updating and maintaining webpages

  • Conducting regular course quality assurance reviews

  • Updating office records and documentation

  • Working on related projects as needed

    This position requires a creative mindset, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and a willingness to learn new things. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft 365 , Canvas, and some Adobe CC programs . Familiarity and/or interest with any of the following is also helpful: copyright rules, online accessibility standards, familiari ty with IST courses, Smartsheet, HTML/CSS , video editing, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

    We are looking for candidates that can schedule 10-20 hrs./week during the Summer 2024, with the option to continue into Fall 2024 and beyond . We are open to applying your work hours to internship requirements, depending upon the internship requirements of your college or program . The possibility of hybrid work is to be determined .
