Wyandot County Department of Job and Family Services is hiring for the position of Eligibility and Referral Supervisor 1.  *This is a full-time permanent position with a pay rate ranging from $24.52-$36.02 per hour along with longevity and educational supplements. *Essential Functions of the Position: Supervises employees in the Eligibility Determination Unit.  Assigns caseloads and reviews work of subordinates.  Monitors processing of assigned public assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), Publicly Funded Childcare Program, and Medicaid cases.  Provides technical assistance to subordinates.  Communicates with outside agencies concerning individuals on public assistance, SNAP, Publicly Funded Childcare Program, and Medicaid.  Contacts regional/state office regarding program policy.  Completes reports and forms. Oversees work activity and ABAWD functions; Monitors processing of employment services assessments & appraisals, case records, work schedules. Cooperates & communicates effectively with other agency units. Interviews applicants; recommends hiring; initiates termination actions; disciplines employees following progressive discipline policy; sets work schedules; completes performance evaluations; interprets policies, procedures, rules, regulations; makes recommendations for change; conducts unit meetings; works with outside agency providers; advises & updates director on an ongoing basis of any issues.  Reviews, approves, or denies requests for leave. Meets with subordinates regarding grievances.  Deals with client concerns. Reviews timecards for bi-weekly payroll.  Provides guidance on computer systems (OBWP/EDMS/ARIES/CFIS).  Monitors and maintains compliance in administration of programs.  Conducts self in a professional manner at all times.  Respects agency and client confidentiality principles.  Exhibits regular and predictable attendance.

Interviews public assistance applicants to determine their initial eligibility for one or more agency programs or services (e.g., OWF, Medicaid, Publicly Funded Childcare, SNAP):  computes budgets & obtains all verifications necessary to complete each case;  approves or denies all applications within required time frames;  maintains case records through OBWP/EDMS system;  explains programs & individuals' rights & responsibilities;  answers questions & inquiries by telephone, correspondence or in person;  promotes employment services by referring or assigning applicants to agency Workforce Unit & other community resource/service providers;  maintains a positive communication network with community agencies & service providers; maintains communication with ongoing public assistance individuals to determine their continued eligibility (redetermination) for public assistance; ensures accurate case records by making changes when necessary for initial & ongoing cases;  notifies individuals of actions taken on their cases;  maintains efficient methods for preparation, maintenance & timely submission of all required paperwork & reports;  works IEVS information; processes & completes required paperwork for public assistance overpayments, under issuances & state hearings; makes investigation referrals on cases of suspected fraud.  Makes referrals for self-sufficiency assistance programs (e.g., Prevention, Retention & Contingency services, PRC); refers individuals to Emergency Services Assistance (ESA) program; documents client needs; discusses service alternatives; assists in locating goods & services;  makes contact with service providers & initiates referrals.
