Position Summary:
The CMA/RMA ensures timely flow of patients, rooms patients and gathers all necessary medical information for the doctor to deliver quality patient care. Maintains department patient care supplies and clean exam rooms.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS H.S. Diploma/GED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) From the following certification bodies: National Health Career Association (NHA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Allied Health (AAH) upon hire or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) From the following certification bodies: American Medical Technologists (AMT) or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.
Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Room patients for provider visits.
Obtain vital signs for provider visits.
Stocking supplies and cleaning rooms.
