Summary of Role:Join the team responsible for Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Quality. This is a critical role focused on GlobalFoundries Finance data management. The individual will partner with business, legal, compliance and IT to ensure Finance Domain Data is being managed as per the data governance policies and processes. The Domain Manager is accountable for driving the domain council meetings focused on identifying critical data elements, defining business and quality rules, coordinating issue escalation and resolution, developing a common data model, and working with business to develop the semantic layer for reporting and analyticsEssential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy that supports business and regulatory requirements

  • Liaise with business, legal, compliance and IT to understand and align Data Governance and Data Risk & Control related work

  • Manage a domain council with representation from key stakeholders from across business functions and IT shared services

  • Develop trust and confidence of the stakeholders as the single point of contact from IT for all data related issues and escalations within the domain

  • Coordinate with data stewards and data domain owners to:

  • Create awareness of the data governance processes and policies

  • Conduct working sessions to escalate data issues and drive resolution

  • Ensure critical data elements are identified and properly defined with assigned ownership

  • Develop business and data quality rules for critical data elements to ensure conformance to set data quality standards

  • Develop and manage the common data model for the domain

  • Develop and manage the semantic layer for reporting and analytics with support from data analysts and operations stewards, drive root cause analysis of data issues

  • Participate in the Data Governance Council as a representative for the Finance Domain

  • Establish a communication and escalation process between the DGO and the Data Domain Council, facilitate domain council meetings, and prepare all materials necessary to provide context and facilitate understanding of the decisions and feedback required by the council

  • Solicit and obtain appropriate involvement from tech partners to ensure overall organization alignment

  • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to identify business needs and implement Data Governance and Data Stewardship capabilities.

  • Act as the key evangelist and authority on Data Governance for stakeholders Train, guide, and provide continuous feedback to the data governance team. Perform performance evaluations in accordance with company policy.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data management, focused on (a) financial planning & reporting, (b) quoting & pricing, and (c) product costing, especially in the manufacturing industry

  • 4+ years of experience as a data steward (business / operations) or previous experience of being a finance data domain manager is a big plus

  • Excellent understanding of financial accounting (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable) and asset accounting

  • Experience in a regulatory environment

  • Experience in Master Data, Data Governance, Enterprise Data Solutions

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Experience working with and influencing senior leadership teams

  • Expertise in developing processes and operations to manage data governance principles and policies, and approaches related to protection of enterprise data assets

  • Experience with metadata management, MDM processes, data catalog systems and tools

  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools

  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Expected Salary Range

$103,000.00 - $194,200.00
