Corewell Health Order Selector in Van Buren Township, Michigan

Job Summary

As an Order Selector at Corewell Health, you will play a critical role in our warehouse operations. Your primary responsibility is to efficiently select, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipping. This physically demanding role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate warehouse equipment. You will perform a variety of duties involved in equipment, materials, linens and supplies for an assigned area. Tasks may include inventory, inventory selection, stocking, receiving, delivering and other similar functions to ensure supplies and materials are readily available at various locations. Utilizes computer-based inventory management system to perform daily functions. Works closely with other team members from supply chain and staff throughout the system to provide exceptional care for our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Read customer orders carefully to understand specifications

  • Locate and select specific warehouse items based on order requirements

  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping

  • Ensure accuracy in order selection and packaging

  • Place prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks

  • Perform visual inspections to verify order correctness and readiness for shipment

  • Label order shipments accurately for easy identification

  • Apply shrink wrap to prepared orders before shipping

  • Follow warehouse safety procedures when operating equipment

  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and other workers while transporting items

  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized at all times

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • A minimum of three months of warehouse/store room experience

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff in the delivery of materials

Preferred

  • Ability to follow oral and written communication and instructions.

  • Ability to analyze inventory levels and stock/restock supplies and/or stock/restock emergency transport vehicles appropriately.

  • Able to utilize inventory software.

  • Proficiency in use of computer for supply entry, calculator, motorized/hydraulic lift and pallet jack, electric transport cart
