SUMMARY

This position is responsible for doing takeoffs for material and labor with our takeoff software. This position is also responsible for creating detailed takeoffs for base plans, options, and individual jobs as well as serving the needs of other departments and company initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for producing lumber material, and siding material take-offs for all jobs, as well as ordering and managing these materials at time of release to construction.

  • Estimating for special project and product development initiatives.

  • Produce as built take-offs for material and labor for use by Purchasing Agents

  • Create and/or review estimates for custom options

    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Collaborates with Design, Scheduling, Field Operations, and Process Improvement for estimates.

  • Generates various reports as assigned.

  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance and professional appearance.

  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Jump in to support teammates when workloads require additional focus.

  • Excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with suppliers and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

  • Respectfully takes direction from the manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned, with willingness to go above and beyond expectations, when necessary, in order to facilitate advancement and growth

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Responsible, with a strong work ethic, integrity, and reliability.

  • Professional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates a positive, approachable and confident demeanor.

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively

  • High school diploma or equivalent with applicable work experience; Associates degree or above is preferred.

  • Residential construction industry work experience preferred

  • Experience using Google Workspace as well as Excel (intermediate to advanced level) is preferred.

  • Experience with takeoff software (i.e. Bluebeam, planswift, etc.) would be beneficial.
