Job Summary of the Purchasing Specialist The Purchasing Specialist will offer support on efforts related to the procurement of items needed for manufacturing and other departments. Also included will be responsibilities to assist in inventory management, planning, and forecasting. In addition, the Purchasing & Production Planning / Analysis Specialist will assist in production analysis and planning. Requirements of the Purchasing Specialist * AA degree required, BS degree in business, engineering, supply chain, procurement, finance or related field preferred * Minimum of 3 years' experience in supply chain management * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must * Excellent negotiation skills * Contract management experience * Strong communication skills * Strong computer skills, especially Outlook, Excel * Supply Chain Management or APIC certification preferred * Medical Device and/or biotech experience preferred * Sourcing experience preferred Responsibilities of the Purchasing Specialist The specific duties of the Purchasing Specialist include but are not limited to: Purchasing * Support short- and long-term supply chain strategies by building strong relationships with internal departments and external vendors, planning for inventory to maintain safety & quality, ensure business continuity, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. * Procure necessary supplies to support production and business needs while adhering to all quality and corporate procedures. * Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee. * Assist in developing new supply sources where vendors meet specifications and quality standards. * Examines bids, reviews with management, and makes awards. * Establishes account/credit and terms. * Negotiates blanket purchase orders when appropriate, reviews with management, and monitors cost during the time period. * Works closely with receiving staff to ensure proper supplies arrived * Traces delinquent arrivals from purchasApply here: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjgzMjI0LjEwNTA4QGF4b2dlbmluY2NvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t
