Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services. We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission at the forefront of what we do: make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

Partner with the best

You will oversee a team of engineers responsible for the performance, monitoring, ongoing maintenance, and availability of the Akamai Connected Cloud's imaging services infrastructure.

As a Site Reliability Engineer Senior II Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Managing, mentoring, and growing a team of talented site reliability engineers

• Being an integral part of new product development by defining requirements and service level objectives

• Collaborating with our support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate complex problems

• Developing processes, plans, and infrastructure to safely and efficiently deploy new software components and updates at scale

• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

• Designing and implementing enhancements to our imaging services' observability and monitoring infrastructure

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have expert level experience in a DevOps, Development, or Systems Administrator role

• Have deep expertise in Linux system internals, including common Linux virtualization technologies

• Have advanced level experience with designing, implementing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale

• Have ability to work in alignment with (or contribute to) strategic business initiatives by coordinating and guiding the work of other engineers
