Red Hat Principal Software Engineer - Trusted Profile Analyzer in Ireland
Job Summary:
The Red Hat Trusted Profile Analyzer (https://developers.redhat.com/products/trusted-profile-analyzer/overview) team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team. Trusted Profile Analyzer (RHTPA) a part of Red Hat's Secure Supply Chain portfolio of products that includes Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS), Trusted Application Pipeline (RHTAP) and Dependency Analytics (DA). In this role, you will join a large team of highly skilled Software Engineers and Software Quality Engineers who are responsible for the development, testing and support of Red Hat’s Trusted Profile Analyzer product.
What You Will Do :
Design, implement and test new product features.
C oordinate with team leads, architects, and other engineers on the design and architecture of our work.
Become responsible for the quality of our offerings, participate in peer code reviews and continuous integration (CI), and respond to security threats.
Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that projects are thoroughly tested in accordance with the testing strategy to ensure the product satisfies the release readiness criteria.
Collaborate actively with all of our partners teams including the Engineering, Quality Engineering (QE), Documentation, Product Management, Support, Product Security, Software Productization and UXD teams to continually improve our product, processes and customer experience.
Provide mentoring and guidance to peers and less experienced associates.
Work with Red Hat's Global Customer Support team and partner support teams on resolving customer issues.
Build Secure Supply Chain domain knowledge particularly with respect to Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and vulnerability management.
Support internal RHTPA services managed via Site Reliability Engineering.
Contribute to our efforts to energize and build a community around the upstream projects.
Publicize the team's work through blogs, web postings, or conference talks.
What You Will Bring :
Advanced experience of a programming language like Java, Javascript, Golang, or C/C++.
The application is written in Rust and ReactJS. Candidates are not expected to have experience of Rust but must be prepared and motivated to become accomplished at developing in Rust.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience with a container ecosystem like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
Experience with microservices architectures and concepts including scale, APIs, versioning, monitoring, etc.
Strong analysis, design, problem solving and debugging skills.
Be self-directed, and able to make strategic recommendations and personally influence product direction. The ability to direct not only your own efforts but also those of other team members. You must be comfortable with being entrusted with the timely delivery of complex initiatives independent of close managerial oversight.
The following are considered a plus:
Experience of Rust.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Experience with Ansible.
Experience with open source development.
Experience with cloud development.
Experience with AWS services
Experience with ReactJS
