Oracle Senior Software Engineer in Malaysia

Job Description

In this role, you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. In addition, you will deliver features which are meaningful to the customer, technically sound, operationally maintainable & scalable, and consistent with the product vision. As a software engineer, you will be assigned to one of our Agile Development team and work cohesively as a unit to deliver value to our product, following Agile principles.

As part of the Agile Development team, you will be expected to be involved in the development of:

  1. RESTful API for our modern Cruise applications and customers, and

  2. Web-based UI that provides modern features and functionalities to our customers.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of experience in developing solutions within an Agile Development team.

  • Candidate MUST have working experience with Java tools and technologies (e.g. Core java, J2EE, Helidon or Spring). This is the main requirement for this position as the skills will be required for RESTful API development.

  • Experience with building RESTful web services will be preferred

  • Familiar with JSON and XML

  • Experience with writing Swagger or OpenAPI specifications for the RESTful API

  • As a secondary requirement, it is good for the candidate to have exposure to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Knockout, JQuery. The skills will be required for Web-based UI development.

  • Experience with Angular, Preact, etc

  • Candidates with experience in developing full-stack web-based applications are preferred.

  • Other general skills possessed will be advantageous

  • Experience working with Oracle databases.

  • PL SQL.

  • Experience developing and working with SaaS applications.

  • Familiarity with Oracle core cloud technologies is a plus.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and performance tuning.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git, Subversion.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
