The Opportunity

Our Project Managers help customers succeed in designing and deploying Grass Valley and 3rd party technologies. You’ll use your extensive experience and knowledge of Project Management methodologies in high technology environments to ensure the successful design and deployment of 24x7 mission critical solutions.

You are a highly motivated Project Management specialist who will stay abreast of evolving methodologies, technology and market trends in both traditional broadcast and fast paced new media industries. You will partner with Resource Managers, Sales, Solutions Architects, Customer Success Managers and Product Specialists to design and deliver innovative architectures that address customer business problems, and you will be responsible for delivery of the technology and successful on-boarding of customers prior to hand off to the post-sales support teams.

The main purpose of the job is:

  • Put our customers first by providing industry leading project management with innovative solutions to overcome challenges faced by our globally based customers

  • Prepare and maintain high level and detailed project implementation plans and documentation, including SoWs, Gant Charts, RAID registers and Bills of Materials

  • Participate in management, scheduling and co-ordination of GV internal resources, and partner with customer/systems integrator and/or 3rd party vendors as necessary to ensure adherence to the project schedule and general division of responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of project communications to meet client and GV reporting requirements, including hosting of regular meetings and workshops to establish the project foundation and confirm daily and weekly activities

  • Responsible for Project Change Management encompassing the commercial, financial and logistics aspects; Project Acceptance criteria definition and client validation or acceptance of deliverables; Project Milestone invoicing and tracking

  • Ensure compliance with professional services project planning and delivery processes and KPIs

  • Contribute and participate in strategic and process improvement and efficiency initiatives, inclusive of project post mortems and documentation of lessons learnt

  • Provide project planning, project estimation and consultation support to the Sales and Pre-Sales teams providing input into Bids and Proposals for potential new projects

  • Depending on project location, up to 50% interstate and international travel may be required during various project phases or for self-training purposes

  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to customers

  • Prioritize and manage several open projects concurrently

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports

What You Will Need To Be Successful

Technology Systems Knowledge:

  • Degree in Electronic, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Recognized industry qualification or formal Project Management qualifications are essential (PMI, PMP, PMBOK,  PRINCE2, LEAN)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Management roles with a strong focus on Broadcast, Media and Content delivery of major projects involving deployment and implementation of software, hardware and related equipment in a Broadcast, IP and Cloud environment

Working Knowledge in :

  • digital broadcast, GV AMPP Platform and SaaS

  • digital and cloud based video and audio systems

  • server-based applications and computer networking

Essential Knowledge:

  • Playout, Asset Management, Cloud and SaaS based Systems

  • Deep understanding of Broadcast, Media and Content workflows, equipment and technology drivers

  • Understanding of SDI, IP and Cloud technologies including AWS and emerging broadcast IP standards

  • Exposure to security concepts / best practices

Essential Skills:

  • Strong customer focus

  • Robust and methodical Project Management approach to solving complex situation

  • Ability to operate in a complex environment, taking on multiple concurrent tasks

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Project, Visio, SalesForce.com, JIRA, Slack

  • Owns a project through to its completion. Never gives up

  • Enjoys working as a part of a highly motivated global technology team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Fluent English)

  • Highly motivated to meet and exceed deadlines and target KPIs

  • Is hardworking, organized, team orientated and be able to work under pressure
