What’s the role?

As a Senior Fireman, you are expected to perform the following activities:

• Respond to fires, rescues and emergencies as a crew leader or as crew member.

• Lead and take charge of fire-fighters and auxiliary fire-fighters in peacetime and emergency.

• Pre-plan fire exercise, fire service drills, and participate in ‘live’ fire training.

• Test, service and maintain Fire Tenders, fire extinguishers and equipment

• Man fire control room and keep records.

• Drive vehicles of Class 3, Class 4 (Heavy Vehicle) and Class 5 (Locomotives) and be familiar with the operation of e-pumps, systems and equipment onboard.

• Perform housekeeping of fire station premises.

• Test fixed fire protection/fighting systems.

• Test and operate firewater pumps.

• Service hydrants, block valves and fixed fire protection system inlet connections.

• Maintain, test and refill BA cylinders.

• Work safely and comply with regulatory requirements and company's procedures.

What we need from you

We are keen to talk to individuals with the following:

• Minimum ITE Certification, having Polytechnic Diploma is an advantage

• Have at least 5 year’s experience as a firefighter in a fire station

• Must be physically fit / have passed IPPT (Silver Award)

• Possess minimum Class 4 driver’s license, preferably Class 5

• Able to do minor maintenance of fire-fighting equipment.

• Able to perform fire rescues, and have no fear of working at heights.

• Possess good communication skills and instructional ability.

• Having skills and knowledge of refinery fire-fighting is an advantage.
