Job Description

The Department of Natural Sciences, in the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks applications from qualified candidates for a part-time non-tenure track position in Biology. We seek candidates with specializations in any of the following areas: Biostatistics (using R-Studio), Cellular & Molecular Biology, Organismal Biology, and/or Biology (STEM) Education. Specifically, we seek candidates to teach one or more of the following lecture courses and when applicable, their associated laboratory courses: General Biology I & II for majors, Life Sciences I & II for non-majors, Anatomy & Physiology I & II for Dual Credit/Early High School students, and Cellular Biology for majors. All courses are offered in a Face-to-Face setting.

Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe environment for instruction and learning in a laboratory setting.

Compensation:

3-hour lecture courses = $3000

3-hour laboratory = $2000

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Biology or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Must have 18 graduate credit hours in related area.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience teaching undergraduates or AP biology students.

  • Experience working with all students from different backgrounds and settings.

  • Completed Ph.D. in Biology or related field.

    Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
