Position Summary

Purple Innovations is experiencing tremendous growth and is seeking an experienced Content Marketing Manager to create and oversee the production of content across multiple marketing channels. Under the direction of the Omnichannel Marketing Director, you will write, create, optimize, and maintain content for email, affiliate, influencer, TV, newsletters, audio, native, paid social, and other marketing programs. This is a high visibility advertising and marketing role collaborating with Acquisition, Brand, Public Relations, and Brand Partnerships and Activations.

Purple has always produced quirky, unusual content and needs someone who can continue this trend while also creating more mature and traditional content. You will play a vital role in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-moving environment for a rapidly growing, nationally recognized brand. You will be primarily responsible for writing, editing, and creating content for use in automated and broadcast email marketing programs, and have additional responsibility for TV and audio scripts, and other content as necessary to support omnichannel marketing efforts.

  • To include but not be limited to:

  • Develop and manage content strategy and wireframing creative process for the email channel, including promotional and automated email marketing campaigns.

  • Direct and edit copywriting produced by email content copywriters, script writers, video producers, influencers, publishers, and other content partners.

  • Create and execute a content strategy alongside Brand, Public Relation.

  • Alongside copywriters, write and edit scripts for television, radio, podcast, and other streaming ad campaigns ensuring scripts and messaging contains best of class advertising principles.

  • Oversee the development of custom landing pages, marketing campaigns, and unique partnerships.

  • Manage a team of content/copywriting specialists.

  • Support the affiliate and influencer channels with copywriting and content as required.

  • Collaborate with the Analytics team to test and optimize content across appropriate channels.

  • Collaborate with channel owners as required to test content—including landing pages, SMS, push, etc.

  • Collaborate with merchandising, promotions, Brand, copywriters, creative developers, and marketing on campaign calendars, messaging, and automated program strategy.

  • Proactively work with internal and external creative teams and cross-department stakeholders to develop and improve processes for greater efficiencies.

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, from quick turnarounds to longer, in-depth projects.


  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related experience.

  • 2-5 years of experience in copywriting and/or content marketing experience. Experience with email marketing, direct mail, television, radio, and streaming preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience in an agency or Brand creating content, copywriting, and advertising.

  • 1-2 years managing a team.

  • Experience working with a large brand and writing for marketing and advertising budgets exceeding $75m/yr. preferred.

  • Strong written communication skills including excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.

  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand audiences and what resonates with different audiences.

  • Strong content testing mindset and an ability to analyze and present content performance.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.
