Summary:

Installs, adjusts, maintains, analyzes, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems, with responsibility for maintaining the productivity level and quality performance of the equipment. This role will work on grounds and facilities maintenance during all seasons.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Performs skilled activities in all seasons including, mowing, snow removal, landscaping, painting, construction, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.

  • Analyzes mechanical and other operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective actions.

  • Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.

  • Examines, tests and measures equipment for operational and quality specifications, using gauges and instruments; records data as appropriate.

  • Performs preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisors and takes appropriate corrective actions.

  • Installs and repairs industrial equipment.

  • Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, motors, and other peripheral components.

  • Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical and electronic components and devices.

  • Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlet fixtures, motors, and other equipment.

  • Performs basic building related inspections on a monthly or annual schedule.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in grounds maintenance, facilities and plant maintenance work.

  • A current valid driver’s license is required.

  • Experience with operation of power and maintenance equipment.

  • Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices used in mechanical machine use and repair, as well as building, grounds, electrical, and/or mechanical trades.

  • Occupational hazards and safety precautions knowledge is required.

  • Strong abilities in detecting defects in equipment and making proper repairs, interpreting, and working from sketches, diagrams and prints, and in the care and use of tools and equipment used in trades involved.

  • Computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

    Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:

  • Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee must occasionally lift or move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

  • May remain stationary for extended periods, but also needs to be mobile enough to navigate through areas.

  • Employee will have to work from ladders and lifts.

  • Employee will have to occasionally work outside in various types of weather conditions.

    Target Hourly Compensation: $22.00/hr – $28.00/hr + Robust Benefits
