The Danube Finance Controller role is a key role in the company. Must have a good understanding of the business, understand the priorities and follow up closely on the region P&L, budget and variances. This role is a regional one, managing the Danube countries: Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria, providing close support to the business.


  • Manage the budgeting process: budget preparation, follow up and quarterly forecast

  • To gather and maintain data about past performance ie. structure of portfolio by types of suppliers, commodities and related gross margin

  • To support FM in budgeting process, plan vs fact analysis, daily cash flow planning, working capital needs and gross margin budgeting)

  • Analysis to commercial department of executed or originated volume done with breakdowns

  • Support IT team in developing and testing new modules and IT controls

  • Identify deficiencies in control matrix and suggest improvements

  • Daily Commodity and Forex Position reporting supervision

  • Support finance in daily FX routine, including currency buy or sell, credit lines utilization, cash flow

  • Business KPIs development and controlling

  • Support reconciliation between Trading and Accounting PL, Estimated vs Actual, Monthly and YTD variances explanation

  • MTM calculation, checking and confirming with traders for Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria

  • Intercompany reconciliation in Blackline (MTM, provisions, supplier accounts, advances on purchases, inventories)

  • Checking and recording, booking accruals and expenses manual freight cost, interest on stock days

  • Issurance fo the admin values of FX for BU split for CHS entities in Danube

  • Inventory reconciliation execution vs GL

  • Internal and external audit support, requests and checklist

  • Intercompany reconciliations, BS, PL, MTM

  • Accounts reconciliations in Blackline, MTM, provisions, supplier accounts, advances on purchases, inventories

  • Prepare the monthly PnL based on the reports from insight, compare with budget and report variances

  • Analyze the variances actuals vs budget and prepare the variances report

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Minimum 3 years accountant/finance analyst/finance business partner/finance controller experience within trading (will be a preference) or B2B business;

  • Good analytical skills, good understanding of the business

  • Good communication skills

  • Good understanding of USGAAP standards, as well as statutory standards and high level taxation knowledge

  • Good MS Office (especially Excel) skills

  • Attention to details, business-oriented attitude

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/accounting,

  • Proven qualification in US GAAP or IFRS (ACCA, CPA) will be a preference,

  • Upper intermediate/fluent English skills.

Compensation: This includes base wage and may consist of other earnings depending upon position within CHS, consisting of bonuses, incentives, commissions, merit pay. This position may be an opportunity for promotion.
