We are looking for:

As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the spirit of this position is that of Maintenance department management, Engineering supervision and development, CAPEX projects, maintenance projects, project management, and document management. An innovative and big picture mindset is important for the success of this position. This role will be very involved with production & maintenance operations as it deals with maintaining site equipment and oversight of projects that may interfere with various operations. This role will be instrumental in identifying, documenting, and implementing operational changes to the maintenance department, in addition to the management of projects. The ability to develop and implement operational changes in the maintenance department will be necessary to effectively move forward with this role.

We count on you for:

  • Manage, identify, hire, develop and recognize maintenance and engineering staff.

  • Provides input on overall engineering and maintenance department policy. Responsible for policy setting and defining procedures for the staff in accomplishing and documenting projects.

  • Utilizes knowledge of processes and equipment to monitor and drive maintenance performance indicators.

  • Improve the operating skills, technical knowledge, and working environment of the workforce.

  • Develop training content utilized in ensuring training skills are developed.

  • Analyzes equipment and performance to determine optimal batch operations.

  • Develop expertise on manufacturing equipment specific to the chemicals used.

  • Develop and implement maintenance specific procedures, PM’s, and training content.

  • Manage a variety of complex issues in associated projects, plans, and schedules for project implementation. Responsible for defining the scope of work for project teams.

  • Review and approve technical feasibility of complex design concepts and analysis of technologies that incorporate own area of expertise as well as multiple disciplines.

  • Review and analyze proposals to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Recommend proposal to management for consideration and allocation of funds. Responsible for preparation of project cost estimates up to multi-million dollar range. Monitors all project expenditures and cost tracking.

  • Design new or improved process systems.

  • Approve protocols and support documentation (engineering change requests, system change forms, etc) in order to secure project release. This is a "technical approver" position.

  • Proactively and regularly communicate with plant departments. Identifies, communicates, and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.

  • Perform project implementation activities, which include, design, design review, execution, coordinate effort between all involved parties, monitor/track progress to ensure adherence to schedule.

  • Participate in Process Hazard Reviews.

  • Investigate operational upsets and provide solutions to address root cause.

  • Applies engineering principles to design or modify equipment to improve process.

  • Manage all facets of engineering documentation.

You will bring:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience as an engineer in batch chemical plants or related field.

  • Engineering/Maintenance experience with projects and conformance with approved design, environmental, and safety standards in the chemical plant environment.

  • Experience in DeltaV and other DCS programming.

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred. Ability to lead, communicate, develop and direct employees is required.

  • Must have Subject Matter Expert (SME) understanding of analytical, flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemicals, and weigh system instruments as well as pumps, tanks and pressure vessel design.

  • Good management skills such as organized work, scheduling, and cost tracking abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally; verbally and in written.

  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong HS&E Leadership required.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning/scheduling skills.

  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop and implement clear action plans.

  • Experience with plant turnarounds and shutdowns.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to change.

  • Ability to successfully work with mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.

  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOPs) and/or verbal instructions.

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $115,000.00 to $130,000.00. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

  • Remote working is not an option for this position
