Summary You will serve as a PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to include work sites of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC. For example: If you are within UIC 4523A, you will only be considered for positions within 4523A. Responsibilities You will direct and assure the success of the overhaul by being the direct liaison with all levels of Shipyard management and through subordinate levels of supervision. You will provide information and advice regarding projects schedules, budget estimates, changes in production techniques or standards, and equipment and facility requirements to accomplish the work. You will plan work assignments considering trades involved, availability of manpower and equipment, deadlines, and other work projects. You will manage the material and overtime programs to assure proper execution, and recommend cost saving improvements. You will implement policy developed at higher levels and assign or hold responsible those organizations accountable for proper execution of the overhaul. You will coordinate employee assignments with other trades, engineers, military advisors, superintendents, and managers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing the planning and execution of nuclear or non-nuclear ship overhaul and repair projects to ensure the overall effectiveness in terms of cost, quality, and timeliness of completion.
