World Vision is hiring a Senior Associate General Counsel to serve on our Legal Team.

Role: Senior Associate General Counsel (Full-Time)

Required experience: Advanced degree required – Juris Doctor, plus license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction . Requires a minimum of 10 years of related legal work experience, including significant experience in complex corporate , transactional , and governance matters . Previous work experience as legal counsel for a non-profit organization and/or advising on legal issues faced by non-profits strongly preferred. Preference for expertise in constitutional and/or administrative law. Previous experience in intellectual property law and/or religious liberty law preferred, not required . Prior experience in insurance risk preferred, not required . Litigation and government experience are plus factor s .

Location: Remote from 42+ states within the United States.

Salary: The full salary range for this role is is $127,000 - $217,000. This salary range applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. An estimated hiring range is $1 50,000 - $200,000/annually. 03 The Job World Vision is looking for a   Senior Associate General Counsel who will serve as legal counsel for World Vision, U.S . to protect the organization from legal liabilities, both external and internal, manage its risk, and assist in the defense of claims made against it . This role will serve as deputy Chief Legal Officer in the absence of the Senior Vice President/ Chief Legal Officer. This position will w ork with management at all levels to comply with laws , regulations , and policies . The Senior Associate General Counsel should have broad legal knowledge and experience , ideally gained from representing complex organizations , excellent analytical ability, outstanding judgment, the ability to weigh and manage risks, and the communication skills to effectively and concisely counsel management on all the above . The Senior Associate General Counsel will personify the ministry of World Vision by carrying out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. In doing so, we bear witness to Christ and minister to others through life, deed, word, and sign. World Vision US is open to remote candidates with travel to the headquarters office ( located in Federal Way, WA) as needed .

Responsibilities Include:

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

  • Foresee, evaluate, and manage risk and mitigate damages to the organization by recognizing and researching legal exposure and advising management of all options for fulfillment of client goals.

  • Recognize, research, and advise all levels of management in designated departments regarding legal issues.

  • Develop and conduct training for WV managers and staff on legal issues germane to their departments and work assignments.

  • Research, analyze, and advise all levels of management regarding legal issues in projects as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer (CLO).

  • Advise the CLO on adequacy of insurance coverage for WVUS against liabilities and risks.

  • Assist the CLO with WVUS' defense against claims. Respond to administrative claims and lawsuits, as well as inquiries or audits by government agencies.

  • Collaborate with external and internal auditors regarding legal issues.

  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

    06 Salary Range & Benefits Your compensation and benefits are important to you so they’re important to us. The full salary range is $127,000 - $217,000. This salary range applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Typical hiring range is $150,000 - $200,000. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications, experience, and pay equity.
