Job Summary:

You will be part of the team responsible for defining and prioritizing a team’s backlog while ensuring translation of the Product Manager’s vision and outcomes into stories. The Product Owner has an important role in quality and directs members of the team in completing the worked defined in the sprint. Work with business stakeholders, product managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of product scope, goals, and requirements. Develop and adapt the product vision, writing new user stories, and is empowered to “accept” completed stories.

The Product Owner for Digital Workplace Security Operations is a member of the Security & Compliance product team and defines and prioritizes the team’s backlog while ensuring that stories and outcomes are consistent with the Product Manager’s vision. You will help manage the core voice system including its connectivity to district and National IT services and applications. 

You will communicate with other National IT organizations and participate in large, complex internal information security related projects. The product owner manages a backlog of important requests and ongoing work while determining the criticality and priority or incoming work. You will work independently and consult with the area Lead to provide cohesive messaging among Endpoint product groups. Anticipate internal and external challenges and regulatory issues; recommend process, product, or service improvements. Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Contribute to the development of functional strategy. Lead and consults with product teams to achieve milestones and objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Articulate the vision to delivery team, outlining and prioritizing work based on business value.

  • Coordinate implementation of products and service solutions and enhancements.

  • Prioritize product backlog based on overall strategy and our goals and works with the Scrum Master to drive sprint and release plans.

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders by assessing, evaluating, and understanding the business and product needs and requirements.

  • Primary liaison between stakeholders and teams to ensure full understanding of product scope, objectives, requirements and dependencies.

  • Oversee all stages of development, including planning, refining, reviewing and sprint.

  • Important participant in retrospectives to improve team processes.

What You Have:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.

  • Product Owner certification preferred.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of concepts and principles in functional area, including Agile methodologies and Product Management disciplines.

  • Experience with Microsoft security technologies, such as Defender, Intune, and Purview.

  • Translate high-level requirements into stories and outcomes.

  • General knowledge of department/businesses, Reserve Banks, and System operations, policies, procedures, and technologies.

  • Communications: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.

  • Risk Management: You are responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision-making and contributing to your function’s risk management.

  • Decision-making: Works under the direction and guidance in planning details of procedures and methods to attain definite objectives.

  • Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards.

  • Achieve assigned/planned results by actions based on professional methods, training, and practical experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Working Conditions: Will require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.

  • Hours of Work: May require extended work hours. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods of time), standing, lifting carrying, pushing, pulling less than 20 lbs.

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, and skills, and internal equity and alignment with market data.
