Research Associate- Logistics – A Seed Production position which will manage the seed and materials request, Seed preparation and arrangements for all projects (MPD & Genetics Nurseries & ISO projects). Responsible for the Power Planter and MITT Filling Processes. Responsible for receiving and inventory for all seeds received from end users for arrangement & planting. Involve in the SPT team for planning people resources to support the day-to-day activities of the research seed production in Waimea, Hawaii. Implementing and perform vital tasks associated with breeding and hybrid development. This position will do planning, coordination, reporting and communication to project managers for deployment of workers on daily tasks on Logistics workloads in seed handling & arrangement. Supervise crew leaders, seed handling equipment support & collection of quality data. Supervisory skills required to lead research assistants in all activities related to all Logistics RA workload. Responsible and ensure that workers will have safe work environment and guide them to follow protocols to attain high quality & quantity data of seeds generated from field experiments.

Lead a group of employees dedicated to Seed Production activities.
Close coordination and communication with the end user.
Location Manager, Experiment Assignment, Mapping tool, Grid Mapping.
Seed request, seed receiving, labelling and inventory in-charge.
Power planter MITT Filling process and seed arrangement.
Supervise Planting, field monitoring, pollination, plot maintenance and harvest.
Data template downloading, data collection and uploading data to prism
Printing Tags, guides, grid maps and shelling labels.
Work closely with the agronomy team as well as with the project team for planting field request, land assignment and field dimensions.
Train employees and temporary workers in all Waimea RMS-SOP.
Create Waimea RMS-SOP for the new task.
Participate and contribute to Site specific activities oriented to contribute positively to our community.
Assist on implementing the Ergonomics awareness standard program for Corteva Kauai site.
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, or any Bachelor’s degree with 2 or more years of Corn Research experience is preferable.
2 or more years of experience working with any crops.
Experience in working with Research seed production is a significant plus!
Experience in working Breeders Desktop and other application tools is a big plus!
Specialized knowledge and technical skills related to the assigned program area
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated computer proficiency including use of spreadsheets or database systems
Demonstrated organization and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of various computer software and application tools
Ability to supervise a group of employees
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
License to drive in US
