The Bureau of Financial Operations is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented individual to be responsible for performing the billing and operational duties of the Reimbursement Office located at Warren State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Fiscal Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and sending out bills for the care and treatment of individuals residing at the facility. You will manage incoming payments and processing of accounts, as well as the processing of Medicare billing. You will also verify Medicare eligibility and manage Medicare audits, records, appeals, and work with prior facilities if there is a billing issue at benefits exhaustion, discharge, or for medical leave.

Other key responsibilities of the position include resolving billing issues with Medicare intermediary or Medicare HMO vendor; reconciling monthly PS&R (audit of days, total charges, coinsurances, deductibles, payments and discharges); and preparing the annual cost report, including bad debt. You will also prepare reports for approval by the supervisor and gather data for regularly occurring reports as described in the current operating procedures or for ad hoc reports required by headquarters; and make requests for determination of Medical Assistance eligibility on behalf of individuals residing at Warren State Hospital.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to (1) or (2) days per week during training and then up to (4) days per week after successful completion of the training period. There will be in-office days, as needed, for meeting, trainings, or as assigned by supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Warren. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or

An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
