We are looking for a Fund Controller

In this role, as a Fund Controller for CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions (“CBRE IA&R”), you will work in an ambitious organization that is leading in the Fund Accounting of Real Estate Funds, Joint Ventures and Separate Accounts. The Fund Controller reports to the Manager of Fund Accounting and works in an international environment, closely with other Controllers and various departments within CBRE IA&R as well as the Controller within CBRE Global Investors or third party clients. In this position you will support the accounting team for the financial reporting, controlling, cash flow planning and VAT. You are the link between the business, Investment Oversight, Treasury and Payments. You fulfil a key function in managing reliable and complete financial information and share your solicited and unsolicited advice.

Within CBRE IA&R, you will be challenged to develop yourself, to extend your knowledge and skills and to further improve and professionalize various processes within the company.

What are going to be your main responsibilities?

· Prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and various other accounting statements);

· Perform consolidation of financial data including analytical review of the financial data processed by departments within CBRE IA&R

· Prepare and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual accounts;

· Prepare and coordinate quarterly VAT and CIT statements and returns in cooperation with external tax advisor;

· Prepare and coordinate quarterly covenant management;

· Supporting due diligence and sales process;

· Perform bank reconciliations, daily cash management and bi-weekly cashflow forecasts;

· Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger;

· Aggregate financial data on Portfolio level;

· Coordinate the annual audit in cooperation with external auditors;

· Prepare files for audit and SOC requirements as well as answer questions;

· Prepare statutory accounts;

· Prepare financial input for quarterly Board meetings and attend as well;

· Create and complete financial and management reports for clients/investors and other interested parties;

· Read and interpret contracts, legal documents, and other agreements.

· Record complex business transactions in the general ledger;

· Coordinate the reporting process across various functions, funds and geographies to ensure timely and well organized completion of reporting process;

· Periodic report to the regulator;

· Coordinate and execute investors' capital contributions and distributions; and

· Project-based tasks as well as ad hoc requests.

What are we looking for?

  • Graduated from higher vocational training (Bachelor) or university (Master) specializing in finance, such as business economics or accountancy, preferred CPA/ACCA/CA or equivalent;

  • At least 5-7 years relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position at a financial organisation or Big 4;

  • Experience with preparation of periodic and annual financial reports and annual audit processes;

  • Practical experience with consolidation and tax returns, in particular VAT and CIT

  • (preferable Dutch VAT and CIT);

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and accounting principles in general;

  • Knowledge of external reporting and a fresh, modern approach to information disclosure;

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing;

  • Hands-on, accurate and proactive;

  • Excellent communication skills and social skills;

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients from different countries and cultures.
