Responsibilities

We are seeking a Catering/Hospitality Assistant to assist with in-house events and maintain our Employee Lounge and kitchen areas. You'll ensure cleanliness, manage supplies, and support seamless event execution. If you have an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, apply now to join our team!

• Coordinate with the Internal Services Supervisor on food and beverage requirements for in-house events and meetings.

• Set up and clean up for events and meetings, ensuring setups are completed at least 3 hours in advance of the meeting start time, when possible.

• Monitor meeting activities to ensure food and beverages are refreshed as necessary.

• Review emails, menus, and the conference room scheduler daily to properly prepare for upcoming events.

• Assist with room setups in the TAE Conference Center and Ben Franklin reception area as needed.

• Work flexible hours, including overtime, early mornings, and some late evenings for events.

• Monitor kitchen inventory, organize supplies, and restock items based on meeting menus and usage projections.

• Store equipment, groceries, and supplies as directed.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the catering kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Maintain the Employee Lounge and designated kitchen areas, replenishing supplies as needed (cups, paper towels, utensils, etc.).

• Keep refrigerators, microwaves, toaster ovens, toasters, coffee machines, and other appliances clean and in good working order.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in food services, ideally in a corporate office catering environment. Experience in a corporate office setting is highly valued.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Outlook and Conference Scheduler.

• Regular hours are 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends on short notice, depending on the meeting/event calendar.

• Ability to sit and stand intermittently throughout the workday. Physical activities include bending, reaching, standing, kneeling, and stooping. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

• Well-developed customer service skills with the ability to handle interruptions and work under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Compensation

The salary range for this role begins at $50,000. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is typically up to 10% of base salary.
