What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Coordinate and manage eDiscovery tasks for multiple cases at all phases of the EDRM spectrum from intake/acquisition of documents and data through trial support for Civil Rights Division cases and investigations.

  • This is a hybrid position. You will work 3 days at the client site in Washington, DC, 150 M Street, NE, and 2 days will be telework.

  • Responsible for providing day to day litigation support and consultation to the litigating sections within the Antitrust Division.

  • Provide assistance to legal staff in support of eDiscovery and litigation support technologies, processes, and best practices, throughout every aspect of case investigation and litigation. Oversees numerous litigation support activities simultaneously.

  • Manage automated litigation support systems and databases created for use by legal staff.

  • Provides staff with assistance with eDiscovery applications, such as Relativity.

  • Many of the Civil Rights cases and investigations are police misconduct matters and typically focus on the ingestion of structured data sets with either an Oracle or SQL backend from RMS (Law Enforcement Records Management Systems). IAPRO (Internal Affairs – Professional Standards Database), CAD (Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch Systems).

More About the Role:

  • Frequent contact with the COR, Government Case Managers, trial attorneys, client agency staff, and sometimes even opposing counsel.

  • Plan and manage support for the cases, including monitoring workflow, progress reporting, identifying and assigning staff, budget development and tracking, coordinating technical/data processing and eDiscovery support, and obtaining other required resources.

  • Perform an active quality assurance role to ensure high quality work delivered on time.

  • Ensure that proper security is maintained overall project materials, in accordance with Department security procedures.

  • Coordinate with other Contractor components to deliver project support as well as other Contractor staff who are also supporting the client.

  • Coordinate technical aspects such as assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters involving electronic discovery.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the discovery lifecycle, applying in-depth knowledge and experience to provide expert consultation and advice on technology and best practices.

  • Consult with case teams to effectively develop and apply technical strategies, requirements and goals in order to develop and implement project plans including data collection, processing, document review, document production and trial.

  • Participate in legal proceedings, i.e. 26(f) conferences, prepares affidavits, and testifies as to the defensibility of the government’s eDiscovery process.

  • Ensure standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life of the case.

  • Develop cost estimates and advise on maximizing efficiencies and cost reductions.

  • Oversee thecreation of statistical reports providing information on collection, filtering, processing, review and productions.

  • Coordinate efforts of others in response to discovery requests and provides regular reports and metrics as to the status of each phase of the project.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Oracle or SQL.

  • Experience with Relativity (enterprise) and/or with RelativityOne.

  • 5 years’ experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex and large cases involving complex eDiscovery challenges.

  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detailed planning and organizational skills and a thorough understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM); especially data collection, review, analytics and production.

  • Solid, broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.

  • Prior knowledge and experience managing eDiscovery projects and related technologies required.

  • Advanced experience planning eDiscovery efforts, managing client expectations, and working with clients to minimize their risk exposure.

  • Proficient in a wide range of technologies and knowledgeable as to eDiscovery industry “best practices” including an understanding of multiple tools and processes associated with large scale complex eDiscovery response.

  • Must establish compliance with all directives for secured handling of documents.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage complex relationships with all stakeholders. Must be well organized, a strong communicator, detail oriented, demonstrate good judgment, be confident working independently.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Certification(s) in Relativity and other eDiscovery related technical certifications

  • Experience with coordinating task related to forensic acquisitions, scanning and electronic files processing

  • Ability to conduct queries in SQL or Oracle

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
