Google Software Developer, Passthrough Perception and Graphics in Waterloo, Ontario

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

  • Experience with computer vision, imaging, or augmented reality platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

  • Experience working with computer graphic frameworks and libraries, including but not limited to OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan.

  • Experience working in AR/VR/XR.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

  • Write product or system development code.

  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

  • Work with research scientists and developers to develop and productionize novel algorithms at the intersection of computer vision and graphics.

  • Write performant code leveraging hardware acceleration (e.g., DSP, GPU, etc.) for mobile XR devices.

  • Invent novel XR capabilities to bring delightful experiences to users.
