JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

  • Provide site compliance through daily site inspections and safety reports
  • Enforce the Accident Prevention Plan
  • Provide on-site safety education in English and Spanish
  • Coordination of safety issues with QA/QC manager and site superintendent
  • Provide management and oversight of site-specific safety activities. Examples: crane lift plan, abatement, control of hazardous energy
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of EM-385-1.1, OSHA 29CFR1910 and 1926
  • Conduct incident investigations for root cause analysis
  • Provide safety orientations when necessary
  • Maintain SDS list
  • Other functions as necessary
  • Read, analyze and interpret drawings, blueprints and project documents.
  • Ability to adhere to all OSHA; EPA; as well as other federal agency, state and company hazardous materials laws and policies.
  • Be a strong team leader/player with a positive attitude who is hard working and motivated every day

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The site safety manager is responsible for managing, implementing and enforcing the project APP. The SSHO shall provide full-time on site safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, training and safety enforcement.

POSITION TYPE

This is a salary exempt position.

TRAVEL

Travel and work in Maryland

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 -10 years working as a Safety professional in the construction/ demolition or environmental remediation fields required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Experience with all OSHA; EPA; as well as other federal agency, state and company hazardous materials laws and policies required.
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Projects proficiency required.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills required.
  • Valid driver's license.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training preferred.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training required.
  • Asbestos Training preferred.
