Day to day
Develop IHG’s in-house legal practice on Branded Residences, including developing model templates, documentation in key jurisdictions in EMEAA
Directly responsible for branded residential signings in region, by providing direct deal support to regional corporate counsels who work with regional development teams
Advise on project and deal structuring, and where required engage and supervise external counsels in jurisdictions. This will include defining external counsels’ scope of work, required level of due diligence, budget and fees, and other drafting of any ancillary documentation), and obtaining local land, real estate and investment legal advice and ensuring quality work is delivered at efficient cost
Provide legal advice to, and partner the Luxury & Lifestyle, Brands & Marketing, and regional Ops and functions (Finance, HR, commercial and others) across the deal life cycle of a Brand Residential project, from origination to exit, including inputting into the overall Branded Residential growth strategy for EMEAA including coordinating on safety and security and insurance issues
Proactively keep abreast of relevant statutory legislation and regulatory requirements, industry practices in jurisdictions where IHG is growing its business and expanding its presence
Act as strategic partner to other functions in area of Branded Residences, directing appropriate legal resources and ensuring strategic growth priorities are met
Required to deliver legal training to other legal and risk team members and other functions
May be required to supervise and align other regional team members, including IHG counsels to ensure alignment with business objectives
The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer with significant post qualified experience, with wide-ranging knowledge across different legal practices and a solid background in providing international corporate commercial legal advice

Experience in HMA negotiations, hotel deal structuring, hotel, and residential real estate transactions
Experience in navigating IHG’s regional Development organizations (or similar landscape)
Experience working anywhere in EMEAA region and handling legal issues in Southeast Asia, Middle East

Whilst this role will initially be based in our Denham head office location, by the end of 2022 we will be relocating to our new Global Headquarters in central Windsor so you will need to be able to travel to Windsor as required in the longer term.
