Camden County Board of Commissioners Heavy Equipment Operator in Woodbine, Georgia

JOB SUMMARY

This position operates heavy equipment in support of assigned public works construction and maintenance projects.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Operates front end loader, bulldozer, backhoe, excavator, roller, tractor, motor grader, and other equipment as assigned.

``` - Unloads and loads equipment for transport; operates a lowboy to transport equipment.

``` - Operates a dump truck to haul materials.

```{=html}

``` - Operates a transit to shoot grade.

```{=html}

``` - Assists in traffic control at work sites.

```{=html}

``` - Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.

```{=html}

``` - Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.

```{=html}

``` - Operates a variety of hand and power tools.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Performs other work as required or when directed by administration.

  • Knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and supplies used in public works maintenance.

``` - Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

``` - Skill in oral and written communication.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

The supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
