CVS Health Data Engineer Advisor in Woonsocket, Rhode Island

Job Description

Caremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Data Engineer Advisor to devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information source to produce financial and market intelligence. Duties include: collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define their data and business intelligence (BI) requirements; leverage knowledge of enterprise-level business intelligence technologies; access data, design summary data layers and manipulate large datasets to support planned analysis using SAS, SQL, and other enterprise-level database technologies; design and implement robust analytic and reporting solutions to support identified needs; ensure high levels of data quality in source systems and data warehouse platforms across the enterprise; utilize Python, SAS and SQL to access data, design summary data layers, and manipulate large datasets to support planned analyses; leverage strong understanding of data modeling concepts to collaborate with members of the business, operations and IT teams; enable data-driven strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for existing product improvement and new product development; translate business needs into analytic questions; test newly developed functionality to ensure the highest level of data quality exists upon delivery; analyze, evaluate, test, and participate in designing the integration of multiple data sources into the data warehouse, remediation of data deficiencies in warehouse environments; use business intelligence tools such as Tableau or MicroStrategy to design, develop, and maintain analytic products, including business intelligence reports, dashboards, data-marts, scalable data models and data strategy processes; perform user acceptance testing by validating all relevant components of the analytic products like tables, views and reports; proactively interact with business users and gather business requirements for converting them into functional and technical documents; ensure that all the data flowing in and out of the database systems meets precise standards, such as a business rules, data definition and data integrity constraints thereby adhering to data governance practices; evaluate new trends in analytics domain to develop appropriate IT data use; perform testing and validation of summary data layers and reporting tools to ensure the results match the expected outcome; and assess existing available data, identifying data gaps, and collaborating with business partners to develop approaches to close data gaps. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in each of the following: computer programming with knowledge of database and data warehousing, data analytics tools and methodologies; Oracle, Teradata,DB2, or SQL Server; quality assurance techniques; advanced SQL/PL SQL programming; SAS/Base and SAS/Macro; Python; and UNIX platform.
