The Wayne County Commissioners are currently accepting applications for this full-time position. A Wastewater Operator 2 license is required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Completes daily plant rounds to check meter readings, equipment operation and to ensure operations comply with regulatory guidelines, collects daily totalizer readings, collects and analyzes samples, makes process adjustments, disposes of biosolids, posts daily entries to journal, etc.
• Operates collection system by checking lift stations, completing routine maintenance, checking for overflows, performing infiltration and inflow evaluations, etc.
• Assists with the completion of administrative tasks such as developing preventative maintenance plans, developing policies and procedures, developing the annual budget, etc.
• Assists in the maintenance of equipment such as rotating pumps, exercising equipment, evaluating performance, calibrating equipment, etc.
• Assists with the maintenance of facilities by performing general housekeeping, performing grounds maintenance tasks, maintaining safety and security systems, etc.
• Prepares and maintains logs, reports and other related documentation, prepares or assists with the preparation of reports to regulatory agencies, etc.
• Valid driver's license in addition to having a clean driving record required
• CDL with tanker endorsement preferred

• Able to: Lift 50 lbs.; work in environments that are hot, cold, and/or noisy; walk, stand, stoop, lift, bend and/or reach.
