POSITION SUMMARY The Paint II will have the ability to perform all duties and tasks of Paint I and in addition must also apply the base and clear coats to the apparatus. They will sand out imperfections before paint application. The Paint II will tape, mask, and apply plastic cover to body and cab openings before coating. Also, they will prepare the truck for buffing station to streamline the process and maintain efficiency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All employees are required to support Rosenbauer s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. Performed at the expected level as an incumbent of the Paint I position for a minimum of 30 days and can function as a Paint I when needed. Applies the base and clear coats to the apparatus. Performs both steps of buffing the apparatus to smooth, shine, and polish the body. Sands out imperfections before paint application. Dry and Wet sand the paint on the body of the fire apparatus. Tape, mask, and apply plastic cover to body and cab openings before coating. Prepares the truck for buffing station to streamline the process and maintain efficiency. Utilizes power tools, sander, and blow gun efficiently to complete tasks. Maintenance of paint equipment and oversee bake booth. Cleans exterior of the fire truck and removes compounds as needed to make the fire truck ready for customer inspection. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members. Tools to be utilized: Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air buffer/sander, air blower, and paint gun.
