Job Summary Central Washington University is recruiting two part-time HEP Instructors (Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 1) to join our High School Equivalency Program team in Yakima, Washington. Learn more: Benefits, Perks, and Leave. The Role: The HEP Instructor will provide GED instruction and tutoring to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in both English and Spanish. This position will need to be knowledgably in all four GED subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts) and be ready to teach in all four subjects when needed. In addition, this position will be responsible for updating HEP curriculum, provide motivational activities, tutoring, and other duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the HEP Program Manager and provides leadership and support to colleagues. Job Duties Instruction - Provide instruction (English and Spanish) in at least two of the following subjects: Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and or Science (will need to be knowledgeable in all four subjects) - Give lectures and organize activities to present material and deepen participants' understanding of coursework - Facilitate study groups - Use technology to reinforce curriculum - Motivate and encourage students to accomplish their educational goals - Engage and answer students' questions and provide support to help them succeed - Research for new materials and resources Non-Instructional - Establish key objectives for classes - Develop/enhance curriculum (on paper and online) and update throughout the year - Develop a syllabus that outlines topics that will be explored and listing due dates for assignments and exam (on paper and online, example google classroom) - Create lesson plans that outline timelines and how information will be presented - Enroll in and complete educational trainings throughout the year - Writing, administering and grading e
