Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing a full range of support across all HR employment activities related to benefits, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and administrative functions enforcing federal, state, and local laws.General Duties/Responsibilities: •Administers Human Resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition; occupational health and safety; and training and development. •Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.•Collaborates with departmental managers to understand need, skills, competencies, and employee related issues. •Manages employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. •Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. •Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices, review policies and practices to maintain compliance. •Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. •Performs other duties and administrative functions utilizing manual and automated office systems. •Conducts new hire orientation, background checks and employee verifications.•Assists in managing employee PTO, worker’s compensation, and all leave management programs.•Oversees time sensitive information utilizing spreadsheets extensively.•Analyzes and interprets data providing recommendations and trends analysis.•Liaison for employees regarding benefit packages including, 401(k), Disability, Workers Comp, Life Insurance, STD/LTD and Leave options.Reporting Responsibilities:This position reports to the Human Resources Director. Position Qualifications: •Required a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience. •SHRM-CP/ SCP or PHR certification preferred.•Must have knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.•Familiarity with HRIS software required. J.D. Edwards Oracle and Kronos preferred. •Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License. •Ability to evaluate the interpersonal characteristics and demeanor of individuals or groups to respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations. •Skill to act in a tactful and professional manner. •Ability to work independently reviewing assignments and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.•Ability to receive and give feedback and coaching regarding performance. •Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals. •Ability to maintain confidentiality. •Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. •Ability to provide customer service, address sensitive information by telephone, in writing, and in person with stakeholders at all levels.Physical and Sensory Requirements:•Ability to evaluate information making independent decisions.•Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports, correspondence, and other job-related documents for various audiences.•Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques.•Skill to evaluate the qualifications and personal characteristics of job candidates to make appropriate selection decisions.•Skill to recognize and determine the need to shift priorities and resources to maximize departmental operations.•Ability to use all office equipment including phones, fax, and personal computer.•Ability to sit in a sedentary position for an undefined amount of time.•Ability to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.•Ability to read, write and converse in English.

Minimum Salary: 30.73 Maximum Salary: 36.21 Salary Unit: Hourly
