Apprentice Developer

Salary: £16,547 - £22,011 per annum dependent on age

Location: York, office based with the potential for some home-based work

We're looking for an enthusiastic team player with a passion for technology and web development to join our team as an Apprentice Developer. This role will combine relevant professional training (either Level 4 or Degree Apprentice) and on-the-job experience to help you develop a versatile range of skills that will set you on the path to becoming a Developer. The Role

As an Apprentice Developer on our NextJS team, you'll embark on the first steps of your career, honing your skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment. Your role will involve collaborating with experienced developers to build and enhance our digital platforms, ensuring they are user-friendly, efficient, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of our NextJS applications under guidance.

  • Learn and apply best coding practices for efficient, sustainable software development.

  • Participate in code reviews to understand quality standards and best practices.

  • Engage in team meetings, contributing ideas and feedback.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing applications.

The National STEM Learning Centre & Network is a key UK resource for supporting STEM teaching and learning through provision of resources, on-line and physical networking and communities and partnership with a wide range of organisations and individuals. This includes driving forward on-going development of the STEM Ambassadors and STEM Clubs programmes alongside subject-specific support for all involved in teaching STEM subjects to young people.
