As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As the NDT Specialist (Non-Destructive Testing Specialist) you will provide technical services for advanced NDT inspections as per defined scope (Level II NDT ET, UT, MT and PT inspections). Inspections will be conducted at petrochemical and petroleum refineries, wind farms, pulp and paper plants and other industrial facilities as required. Both Manual and digital data acquisitions systems in performing and interpreting non-destructive tests. You will also be capable of advanced independent testing and high-level customer interaction. Typical skill sets required are advanced T crack detection and sizing and or Automated UT/Phased Array expertise.

You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

How you will make the difference:

  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.

  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.

  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.

  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.

  • Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators.

  • Organize and report test results.

  • Perform specialized inspections.

  • May instruct and supervise others. Responsible for technical leadership and mentoring of NDT Staff.

  • Interface daily with the client about work priorities and progress of projects

  • Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions

  • Work closely with client to identify and remove obstacles

  • Actively participate in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Travel may be required

  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments

We are seeking someone who:

  • Able to travel extensively to the projects and various field assignments in short notice.

  • Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments

  • NDT Level II Certification (Radiography). UT, MT, PT Certifications are a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.

  • Code shooting capabilities.

  • IRRSP or State Card preferred.

  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness.

A Bachelor Degree, Technical School or High School Diploma or related NDT Techniques experience in Power Generation, Industrial or Manufacturing Environment is nice to have, but we are more interested in your commitment and any achievements.
